Dear Friend,
Welcome!
Some years ago I was playing Monopoly with my few friends , I bought some "lands" and built up "houses". In the midst of the game I ended up in "Jail" and I lost my freedom to play. However, the beauty was that while I was locked in the "Jail" I continued to receiving rental income from whoever landed in my houses. I never lost a single "rental INCOME" even though I was in the "Jail"! All of us laughed it out on this ironic situation.
But, a big light bulb came to my head. How could I possible generate income without my physical presence and involvement? How could I still keep money flowing into my pockets while I am on vacations, sleeping, day dreaming.....Yes, I am talking about PASSIVE INCOME here. How could I find not one but two or three... PASSIVE INCOME so that I could quit my day job which taken up 12-13 hours of my time per day and I do not enjoy it. I could not sleep that Monopoly night as the big light bulb still glowing on my head.
It was clear to me that the road to Financial Freedom is worth pursuing.
Since I love to read books and I did not have a mentor to guide me on the topics of Financial Freedom the nature way for me is to head to the libraries and book shops. But, one problem popped up there were so many Financial Freedom books on the shelves which one should I start with...
One particular book caught my eyes. It stated "Best #1 New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Seller" in its unique purple, yellow colored book cover.
The book title was "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert T. Kiyosaki.
You may already read and immersed with the philosophy of Rich Dad Poor Dad, Congratulations! If You have not heard of it this is a great book to begin with. Before reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, whenever I look at the expensive things that I long to have my mentality was "I can't afford it". This was a wrong and danger mindset as it immediately shut down our thinking process and further actions. True enough, people with this mindset will never get the things that they want.
With the Rich Dad Poor Dad mindset, the thinking in our mind will be "How could I afford it?". With this mindset it will get us excited and lead us to plan and take all necessary actions to reach our financial goals.
The book also showed us that the Rich people don't work for money, in stead they treat each dollar in their banks as an employee that will work hard for them to further grow their wealth.
Rich Dad Poor Dad also introduced one important concept as what is an Asset and a Liability. The ability to differentiate Asset and Liability is what separate the financial Rich from the Poor.
I believe this Rich Dad Poor Dad is a good introductory book for beginner whom on the road to Financial Freedom. This book should be strongly recommended to your family, friends, teenage children, school teachers etc...
